Welcome to Year 2

Year 2 is taught by Miss Evans and is supported by Mrs Wilkinson, Mrs Proctor, Miss Melvin and Miss Harding. We are so excited to welcome your children to our class and begin our new work this year. Some children may find the new routines a bit daunting, but we will be there to guide them through all these changes.

Here is some key information which may help with the transition and provides further information about our weekly routines.

Physical Education:

Monday and Tuesday

The children will need their full kit for all of their PE lessons. Any child who has pierced ears will either need to remove these or they will need to bring plasters into school.

Reading:

Children are expected to bring their book and reading record to school everyday.  Reading diaries will be monitored weekly. It is expected that children are reading and/or sharing a book each day at home. It is important that reading records are kept up to date with a signature and page number. This will help staff to ensure books are changed regularly. Children will also select their own reading book from the reading corner which they want to share with an adult at home. Can you please encourage and support their love of reading.

Homework:

Homework will be given out on Friday and will be due to be handed in the following Thursday.
