Online Safety at Thorn
At Thorn, we help children stay safe and happy online by teaching them to be responsible, respectful, and careful digital citizens.
We encourage pupils to be kind online by thinking before they post, treating others with respect, and always using positive language. Personal information such as full names, addresses, phone numbers, and school details should never be shared online, and passwords must always be kept secret.
Children are taught to click carefully — avoiding pop-ups, ads, and unknown links — and to use only the websites and apps approved by a teacher or parent.
We also follow the SMART rules: Stay safe by keeping personal information private; never agree to meet someone you've only spoken to online; be cautious about accepting messages, files, or friend requests; understand that not everything you see online is reliable; and always tell a trusted adult if something doesn’t feel right.
