Attendance Awards
At Thorn Primary School we reward good attendance and punctuality in a number of ways.
Class Attendance Race: In our Friday assembly each week, we monitor attendance by class. If a class has over 96% attendance they take a step up the attendance ladder. Those with 96% attendance in the winning class at the end of term win a prize!
Previous winners have chosen to have a Pizza Party, Movie Afternoon and Teddy Bears Picnic!
100% Attendance
Bronze, Silver and Gold Prizes:
At the end of each term we hold an attendance assembly. Pupils with 100% attendance at the end Autumn Term can choose to take home a bronze prize or they can choose to to bank their prize until the next term when they could take home a silver prize. If a pupil chooses to bank their prize twice and they get 100% attendance for the whole academic year, they choose a Gold prize at the end of the Summer Term.
Our prizes range from football cards, fidget toys, toy figures and stationary, up to lego sets, board games and sports toys.
Dont be Late, Be Great!
Our don't be late, be great initiative is run multiple times throughout the year. This gives us an opportunity to motivate pupils that arrive late on a regular basis with the chance to earn a spin on the prize wheel. It also gives us the opportunity to equally to reward pupils that have good punctuality all of the time.

Spring Term 2 2026
The "Don't be late, be great" incentive will run across the whole of Spring Term 2 starting from Monday 23rd February 2026.
Across the 5 week term we will introduce a range of prizes that pupils can win just for being on time, every single day.
Pupils that arrive before 8:45am every day will be in the draw to win a prize at the end of the first week. The prizes will start small and increase each week!
By Week 5, every pupil that has been on time every single day will have a chance to win the final prize!
That's 5 chances to win! Spring Term 2 consists of just 25 school days. We think this is more than achievable for all pupils!
