Lancashire Girls' Cricket Finals 2026
We travelled to Leyland to represent Rossendale in the Lancashire Girls' Cricket Finals. It was a fantastic day and the girls had the opportunity to play against the very best teams from across Lancashire.
Well done girls, you played some superb cricket!
Y6 Mini Olympics 2026
Our Y6 pupils thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to represent Thorn in the Rossendale Mini Olympics. After our Dance Team performed in the Opening Ceremony, the children went off in their teams to take part in a range of sports and activities from Footgolf to Climbing and Skateboarding.
They all used their School Games Values and performed really well against other primary schools. Congratulations to our Girls’ Athletics Team, who despite having to compete against both girls and boys, finished the day in 1st place! As you can see from the photos, the teachers had just as much fun as the children!
KS2 Cheerleading Club
KS2 pupils have thoroughly enjoyed developing their Cheerleading skills with coach Neve. Our photos and videos show them performing tumbles, stunts, chants and pyramids.
Rossendale Girls' Cricket Champions!
Our Girls' Cricket Team were delighted to be crowned Rossendale Dynamos Cricket Champions, after beating Crawshawbooth and Helmshore in the Finals at Rawtenstall Cricket Ground. Only one member of the squad had played before, so this was a fantastic achievement.
Support from our parents, families and friends was great and we now look forward to representing Rossendale at the Lancashire Finals!
Rossendale Dance Competition
In March 2026 the Dance Team travelled to Burnley Mechanics Theatre to compete in the Rossendale Dance Competition.
They all worked so hard and we are super proud of every single one of them. Well Done Team Thorn!

Glow Dodgeball Festival
Our Y6 Dodgeball Team travelled to Alder Grange High School, to take part in a Y6/7 Glow Dodgeball Festival.
As you can see from the photos, they thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity.
